Heartland Forests is excited to provide our new programming option: Rent a Camp Counsellor. This programming is provided in accordance with current social distancing and sanitization standards recommended amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Counsellors will stay a minimum of 6 feet from the group and all programming materials and equipment will be thoroughly sanitized before each group attends.
Groups of 10 people or less will be able to come and experience a taste of our summer camp programming. Groups will learn about the natural world around them, and will walk away with new games and activities they can continue to enjoy at home.
All children must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 18+
Timeslots are booked on a first come first served basis, Timeslots include: 12pm and 3pm Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Cost: $70 flat rate
Duration: 2 hours
45-minute picnic time in Heartland Forest’s Canadian Tire Pavilion located behind the Nature Centre. A BBQ and propane tank will be reserved for your group. Food and utensils not provided. Cost - $35

Courtney: Hi campers, my name is Courtney! I am currently a student at Brock University, studying Recreation and Leisure. After I graduate, my goal is to continue my education and become a certified teacher. I have been a camp counselor at Heartland Forest for the last two summers and can’t wait for this summer!
Kyra: Hello, My name is Kyra! I am a graduate from the University of Guelph with a degree in Zoology. I recently moved to the Niagara Region and am excited to learn all about this beautiful area. I have a passion for wildlife and outdoor education! I have worked in this field for the past eight years. I have worked for Ontario Parks , Cambridge Butterly Conservatory, Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre, Science North and African Lion Safari. I have done all matter of educational programming and can’t wait to show you what Heartland Forest has to offer!
Alex: Hi everyone! I’ve been working at Heartland Forest for over 5 years and have done everything from being a counsellor in our Summer Adventure Camps, hosting birthday parties and events, assisting with Nature School and most recently coordinating our Work Experience Program for Adults with Disabilities. When I’m not busy working in a program I love taking care of our animals – my favourite is Noodles our Corn Snake.
Cara: Hey there! My name is Cara and I just graduated from Eden High School. This will be my third summer at Heartland! I also am one of the Birthday Party Hosts which is tons of fun playing games and leading activities. I love working outside in nature, especially with kids. My hobbies are cycling, playing sports, and exploring outside.
