What is Nature School?
Forest and Nature School is an educational approach using emergent, experiential, inquiry-based, play based, and place-based learning methods within a natural space.  Curriculum standards are met during child – led explorations and experiences, as educators following the children’s interests, guide students into deeper thinking and understanding.
Student’s questions and ideas drive the learning process forward. These processes are then supported by the facilitator by guiding the student to further investigation and inquiry.

What are the benefits?
Research has shown participation in forest and nature school can lead to an improvement in: confidence, social skills, communication, physical stamina, fine and gross motor skills, creativity, resiliency, academic achievement, self-regulation, patience, focus, self esteem

Participants should be present at Heartland 15 minutes prior to session start.
Come explore and learn with us in this child led, emergent, experiential, inquiry – based, play based program!
