Visit our creative play area, tree house and observation tower. Enjoy a live animal meet and greet of Heartland’s pet guinea pig, lizard, and snake. Play a game of eye spy along our forest trail.
Check out SPRINGTIME at Heartland Forest and see what creatures can be found in our ponds! Through games and open explorations, learn how fish survive under the water. Explore our ponds for frogs in different life stages and meet live caterpillars. Visit our creative play area, tree house and observation tower. Meet live caterpillars, and play Plants vs Bugs to learn about some of the amazing relationships between plants and animals. Explore a pond up close and investigate the interactions within the pond community through games and activities. Live frog, fish and insect encounters will enrich the learning experience. A hands-on, close up look at our pond and vernal pool ecosystems shows what biodiversity really looks like. Through games, activities and experiments explore the relationships between different aquatic, amphibian and insect species and see who they can’t live without.
