COVID-19 Response – August 28th Update
It is so nice to see the region re-opening in such a positive way. We are thankful for the dedicated support of our community leaders and residents to do this well.
We appreciate your understanding as we’ve kept our property protected weekdays so that we could safely offer programming to vulnerable populations as well as a modified summer camp. Today is the last day of camp so we will be unwrapping the playground and opening the park-side gates each morning moving forward. The equipment is not sanitized so please use at your own risk. We recommend physical distancing and the use of hand sanitizers.
Please note that our hours will change again on Labour Day – Monday, September 7th. As school begins we will close the property at 5pm, the end of our programming day.
Public Trail Use – Effective Monday, September 7th
9am to 5pm Daily
There will continue to be no access to washroom facilities or the area around the Nature Centre. This is important as we continue to provide programming within the restricted area.
When you visit next you’ll see we are expanding our accessible pathways. Thanks to a capital grant from Bertie Clinton Insurance and the support of the Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation we will have newly placed concrete on the park-side. We are thrilled! As a charitable organization these are challenging times with a loss of over 70% of our revenue due to the pandemic. Fees from the modified programs we are able to provide, donations from the community and emergency funding grants have kept us going. All help is appreciated. You can safely donate by clicking on the donate button on our website menu.
